My Policy on AI Use and how I Go About Creating Top-Quality Copy and Content

Hello-hello!

As you know, I'm a copywriter. And in today's world, in this industry, AI is everywhere. We're all trying to settle on how we feel about it... How to use it... Should we use it?... The integration of AI is a major shift that's redefining the marketing world.

And as you search for a professional copywriter to help you create copy and content that actually gets results - actually moves the needle for your business and your bottom line - you'll need to know where that writer stands on using AI.

It's a key question when deciding if a writer is a good fit for your project, or not.

So, in the spirit of full transparency, let's unpack the AI policy here at Emily Waldroup Copywriting!

My Copywriting Policy is Simple: I do not use AI.

I do not use AI at all.

Not for brainstorming, research, outlining, writing, editing... nothing.

Every single piece I write, and all of the work that goes into it, is completely, 100% accomplished by me.

If that puts you off wanting to work with me, that's okay.

After all, there are many, many other writers who do use AI, and I genuinely, from my heart, wish you the best of luck with the (possibly artificial) writer you choose, going forward!

If you're still here... let me explain why I don't use AI, and what you can expect from me since I don't.

AI-Written Copy and Content don't Work Very Well

AI-generated writing pieces are notoriously poor-quality, and/or they don't work well. This is not an attack on AI's capability. It's a fact.

Here's why:

AI writing is often flawed. Riddled with incorrect, inaccurate, and misleading information. It may create a huge chunk of copy or content in seconds, but if the work is bad, it's worthless to you... Even worse, it's worthless to your audience.

You still need a human to edit and fix that writing. Oftentimes, it needs so much work it's essentially been re-written by the time it's useable -- costing you extra time and money.

And this leads to AI's other major drawback... It has no soul.

AI doesn't just produce incorrect writing. It also tends to lack depth, intuition, and is filled with fluffy words that amount to little meaning.

Conversely, when I write for you, you get works of substance. They're carefully crafted to guide a reader down a path built on emotions, facts, and stories.

The writing connects with the person who's reading them.

There's so much skill. So much passion. So much mental work that goes into creating great copy, and AI just doesn't have those things.

In the end, a great marketing piece that resonates with readers is worth the time, and the price, of using professional human writers.

Regular People Don't Like AI

The tech industries are hailing AI as the be-all, end-all. And their

Imagine going to an all-you-can-eat buffet, grabbing a scoop of every dish, and then trying to create a new dish by mixing the scoops of food together...

Instead of a fine meal, you get some variety of slop.

(Awful stuff made by AI is actually called AI slop.)

Some of it may be tasty, but it's still lacking the ideas, creativity, and skill that makes a truly fine meal... Or a truly fine piece of writing that connects with a person's heart.
