My Writing Process:

A Road Map for Working With Me - Your Freelance Copywriter!

Every freelance writer approaches their work in their own unique way. To keep things clear, here's a quick overview of how I'll handle your project. . .

The process is straightforward and simple - and designed to keep things on-track and on-time. . .

Planning

So, that's our first step: planning out the project.

This phase is crucial to success, and I like to start off with a phone call that covers the whole project.

We'll cover your product . . . the audience you're targeting . . . changes you hope to make . . . the results you'd like to see . . . what has and hasn't worked before . . . Basically, my goal is to learn as much as I can about your objectives and how I can help you achieve them.

Next, I’ll design a plan and timeline for the project, and email a proposal to you within 2 business days.

(I usually quote a flat fee, and charge a deposit of 50% up-front and 50% due at the project's completion).

Once the details are all approved, I'll get to work!

Research and Writing

From here, I'll dive into deep research. (One of my favorite parts of the project!!)

(Your help in this early phase can be tremendously valuable - think customer info, marketing data, contacts for interviews, or whatever else may strengthen the final copy.)

Now, I’m ready to write!! By this point, I'll have a clear vision of your prospects, and how your offer or product matches up with their interests and needs.

I’ll complete the first draft (per the deadline) and send it to you for revision. If you'd like any changes or edits, just let me know and I'll be happy to work them into the draft.

Finish and Wrap Up

Finally, I'll send you the final draft and project invoice. If everything looks good, you pay me.

I prefer paper checks, direct deposit, or PayPal, but I'll be happy to discuss other arrangements if you need to.

If, for any reason you're not completely satisfied with the final draft of the copy, I'll be happy to do up to three revisions within three weeks (twenty one days) completely free of charge.

*In the (very rare) case that you're still not happy with the final draft, we have two options. . .

1) We re-start the project with new fees and timetables.

2) We can "kill the project," which means I keep the upfront deposit as a "kill fee," waive the remaining fee, and reserve all rights to the copy.

With a general idea of how we'll tackle your writing project, I hope you're feeling reassured and confident. :)

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, and I can't wait to help you put the web to work!
